Alteras is a five-piece metal band from Youngstown Ohio. The band was founded with the common belief that making music was vital to their well-being. The band's mission is to provide music for whomever who needs it most, touching the hearts of the listener is the main goal of each and every piece by Alteras.

Alteras excitedly prepares to release their new album ‘Grief’ this summer. ‘Grief’ is a full-length album dedicated to their fans that was recorded and produced by Nick Ingram at Capital House Studios in Columbus, Ohio. According to Jake Clasen (lead singer) "These songs have gotten us through some of the toughest points in our lives; we hope they can do the same for you!”

I really enjoy the concept of Alteras’ upcoming album entitled “Grief.” The concept being that the album itself walks you through all of the emotions involved in the grieving process. It’s extremely interesting to hear the transition the songs make as they creatively travel from one emotion to the next.

The vocals seem somehow familiar but also unique all at the same time. They have a sort of punk sound to them in some of the songs on Alteras’ upcoming album ‘Grief’. I hear a little Dashboard Confessionals, Green Day, Incubus, Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, Cute Is What We Aim For, The Used, etc in singer, Jake Clasen’s, vocal style.

In my opinion, Alteras did a fantastic job of musically and lyrically painting very vivid pictures of the emotions they were expressing in each of their songs. They portrayed their musical concept extremely well. I don’t think I’ve ever heard another album quite like this one. It’s particularly exceptional and one of a kind.

Be sure to pick up your copy of Alteras’ upcoming album ‘Grief’ as soon as it hits stores, August 5, 2016 and as always go check our one of their shows while they’re on tour.
